Hello,
A day at Hope & Elvis studio.

I spent a most enjoyable day, a couple of Saturdays ago, attending a Workshop delivered by
You will probably know that Lisa has created, over the last 15 years or so beautiful imagery for fashion and home ware, together with her own ranges of greetings cards and artworks.
Here are a few snaps of her current range of artworks and greetings cards.

Only a week or two before she had published a book for children, entitled 'Handstand'.

The day was about 'doodling on cloth'.   Louise aka Hope & Elvis had furnished us with all sorts of interesting textiles and ephemera, all vintage, for us to use on the day.

If you haven't been to H & E, it is a very inspiring and uplifting place to spend a day.   Louise has exhibited works purchased from visiting artist practitioners, who have delivered workshops there.

Back to Lisa's work...

and the lady herself.

A super day , with very good friends and I achieved absolutely nothing, other than an awful lot of chatting.   But, I did come away with more of an insight into the business side of illustration (the good, the bad and the ugly) and a promise to myself to have more confidence and self belief in my work.

Thanks for stopping by. X
